Netflix 8152 DRM Error for Instant Watch

July 26th, 2009

If you have a Mac, not a hackintosh, and you were receiving this error… read on

I finally figured it out- Go into terminal and type ifconfig en1 and see if it returns information.

now type ifconfig and type en0 and see if it returns information.

Chances are if you’re getting the error, it isn’t. The fix is actually quite easy… Head over to

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration (not in your user folder, but the root of your actual HD)

And delete the following file NetworkInterfaces.plist .

Once this is deleted restart and reconfigure your network connections in system preferences.

BOOM, instant watch works. Thank the lord.

Hey–I tried this and it didn’t work. I was so hopeful!

I wasn’t sure–and still am not sure–what you meant by “reconfigure your network preferences.” After I restarted I was still connected to the internet (on my wifi) so what was I supposed to reconfigure?

I’d love any advice–not being able to watch has been driving me crazy! Thanks

oh and ps typing both ifconfig en1 and ifconfig en0 both returned information.

I’m glad I was able to help. This issue plagued me for at least a month before I figured it out.
